Recall Abraham Adjatey, the chief executive officer of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) is a royalties collection agency that represents the rights of music copyright holders in the country is on record that most media houses especially the radio stations are owing the agency huge some of money.

He stated most of the radio stations in the country are refusing to pay their royalties dues to the agency making it very difficult for the agency to also pay the royalties to the various musicians in the country.

Trigmatic adding his voice to the issue stated the fact that the owners of the various radio stations haven’t come out to debunk the allegations means what the CEO said is true and to him, the radio stations are making the work difficult for the agency.

@Hitz1039FM if till date no media house has come out to debunk allegations by the CEO of Ghamro , then maybe we can conclude that they are surely guilty. First of all,did Ghamro issue licences to use the music? If yes y has it taken this long for them to stop stations from using.

The mandate is to issue blanket licences for users to use, then have them monitor the plays or inspect logs and distribute based on that.

So why haven’t media houses come out to say they have been paying ? Some of the great names were mentioned and to use someone’s property for free is criminal @andydosty
