Award-winning American filmmaker and Actor Tyler Perry has revealed that he has hired the services of a pathologist to re-examine his nephew who died a few days ago.
Tyler Perry’s nephew, Gavin Porter aged 25, sentenced to 20 years after being charged for the murder of his father in the presence of his mother, who is Tyler Perry’s sister.
Gavin was reportedly found dead in his prison cell hanged from a bedsheet.
Although it appears as suicide as reported by the Police, Tyler Perry is not convinced his nephew committed suicide as he suspects foul play.
His suspicions was on the back of a fight his nephew Gavin had with an inmate last weekend and had been placed in solitary confinement.
To be sure of actual suicide or murder, Tyler Perry has engaged a medical examiner to find out the real cause of his death.
Tyler told TMZ, “Call me naive, but it was my hope that after serving his time, and really reflecting and showing much remorse and asking God for forgiveness, that he would have been able to come to work for me, joining all the other former inmates who work for me and turn his life around just as they have. But that day will never come.”
Tyler says he’s hired Dr. Michael Baden, a famed pathologist who has been involved in numerous cases, including JFK, O.J. Simpson, and Jeffery Epstein. Dr. Baden will perform a second autopsy.
Tyler added: “I want to be clear that we are not a family of conspiracy theorists and want to believe that there was no foul play just as the sheriff said publicly.
Reacting to Tyler’s quest for a second autopsy, a rep from the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office told the publication: “There is an active investigation at the prison’s request. We are currently awaiting the results of an autopsy. The initial investigation did not suspect foul play. We are also conducting an investigation into the fight which occurred earlier and Porter’s involvement in that incident.”
