According to him, he has ever regretted winning awards from Ghanaian award schemes because people had to bid and appeal to his or her fans and sympathizers to vote for him or her to win the award and to him, this makes the award schemes very materialistic.

Speaking in an interview on Okay FM’s Ekwansodwodwo with Abeiku Santana, Blakk Rasta stated that it makes no sense that musicians have to appeal to their fans to vote for them to win awards, and this he said shows how corrupt the award schemes are.

In his point of view, if the board of the award scheme feels a musician needs to be awarded for his or her contribution to the music industry in the country, there is absolutely no need for the musician to solicit votes before winning the award.

He asserted that Stonebwoy who was once banned from participating in the VGMA’s had every right to demand the money he spent to get people to vote for him to win his awards because he paid for the awards.

Blakk Rasta also advised the various award schemes in Ghana to rethink and structure their schemes very well if they only aim at award musicians for their excellent performances in the year under review.
