Although this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) has been held, there are some artistes who had issues with the organizers and one of such people is Tamale-based musician, Mujahid Ahmed Bello who is widely known as Fancy Gadam.

According to him, he was looking forward to getting nominated for the Artiste of the Year category, however, that did not materialize as he was ignored.

He made this known as he shared his grievances on the popular Ghanaian radio station, Hitz FM, and in his submission, he said;

“I filed for the Artiste of the Year nomination. I believe I deserve to be nominated. It shouldn’t be about Accra. In the North, we are also part of Ghana. There are songs that are big in Accra but not known in the North.

I strongly believe Sarkodie’s influence contributed to the success of ‘Total Cheat’. I hosted about three shows last year.”

The prestigious awards show was held on May 6 and 7. Several popular musicians bagged some awards and the ultimate award for the night, Artiste of the Year, was won by young Ghanaian musician, Dennis Nana Dwamena who is known in showbiz as KiDi.
