In a recent submission, Jupitar revealed the only genre in Ghana that is capable of winning a Grammy award for the country right now is the Dancehall genre looking at the likes of Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and even himself are doing.

He urged Ghanaians to quit the attitude of downplaying anything foreign with the excuses of ‘it’s not part of our culture.’

This comes after the legendary Highlife musician and performer Gyedu-Blay Ambolley called for radio stations to quit playing anything about Dancehall music because it’s not part of the Ghanaian culture.

Ambolley said every country needs its own identity and when you come to Ghana, the country is regarded as one of the pioneers in Highlife music. He said Highlife is the backbone of every genre that does dancing songs and so Ghanaians need to embrace it and quit playing and hyping Dancehall music.
