Ghanaian dancehall sensation, Stonebwoy, has called on the government to offer more support to the creative industry so that artists can make more money.

According to the BET award winner, most Ghanaian artistes are not making enough money which makes it difficult supporting the government by paying taxes.

Stonebwoy remarked that he and his colleague musicians, for instance, are releasing goods music which is getting massive airplay but the country is not equipped to enable them make money digitally.

“Government has helped the creative industry, but more needs to be done. If two (2) million people in Ghana stream our songs through the proper channels, then we can make enough money and help government through the taxes we pay,” Stonebwoy said in an Instagram chat with Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

“Talking about digital distribution, government needs to support the industry to digitally monetise our craft,” he added.
