Rufftown Records boss, Ricky Nana Akyem Agyemang who is widely known as Bullet has reacted to a South African producer using one of Wendy Shay’s songs for a movie without formally engaging them.

According to Bullet, they felt very disrespected by what the producers did and he reacted to this in a recent interview he had on the popular Ghanaian radio station, Hitz FM.

In his submission, he said;

“The movie is no longer on Netflix. Nevertheless, we did not hear from the producers of the Netflix movie.

It is unfortunate that a lot of people do not understand intellectual property and copyright stuff — they said Wendy Shay should be grateful her song is being used in a Netflix movie.

I am expecting royalties from Netflix. Netflix should get it right that we are not happy they used my song without my consent.”

In a post Wendy Shay made on Instagram some days ago, she vowed to seek legal actions against the producers of a South African movie titled “Slay” who featured her song in the movie without her consent.

The movie features some of Africa’s top movie stars like Kalybos, Bismarck TheJoke, Ramsey Noah, and Willaims Uchemba.

In reaction to this, Wendy Shay asked the producers of the movie to do the needful by reaching out to either her or her management for using the song or they should be prepared to see her in court.

“So, I watched this movie last night on Netflix and my song, ‘All for you’ was featured without my consent or that of my management. Producers of the movie ‘Slay’, it is a crime to use someone’s intellectual property without her consent. Kindly do the needful or i will see y’all in court,” she wrote.
