Ghanaian media personality, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana has stated that it was childish of Will Smith to have slapped his colleague, Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars over a simple joke.

It would be recalled that Will Smith during the 2022 Oscars was agitated after the American Comedian, Chris Rock who happens to be a good friend of the former cracked a joke about Will’s wife, Jada Smith Pinketh.
What was supposed to be a lighthearted moment devolved into a violent brawl when an enraged Will Smith stormed the stage to confront Chris Rock for making fun of his wife in front of the audience.
The audience and social media users, including followers of the two performers, were alleged to have had diverse reactions to the occurrence, with many expressing their unhappiness with it.
Some people chastised Will Smith for reacting forcefully to Chris Rock’s jokes and publicly embarrassing him.
In reaction to this, Abeiku Santana has described Will Smith as “immature” on the account that Chris Rock has made several jokes about him before which he never reacted in anger but was infuriated by just one joke to cause a scene at the Oscars.
He explains that comedians mostly pick on people at events irrespective of the emotions that may be attached, hence Will Smith should have exercised a little patience and maybe confront him after the show.
