Shatta Wale caused one of the biggest controversies of 2017 when he branded Nigeria’s Wizkid as an over hyped artiste. We all know the aftermath of the infamous comment; fast forward and yesterday Wizkid was in Ghana to perform at the aiteo CAF Awards.
Several musicians, dominated by Nigerian and Ghanaian musicians were billed to perform on the night of the event. They were Wizkid, Shatta Wale, Efya, Flavour, and KiDi. Unfortunately due reasons we are yet to establish, the Ghanaian star did perform whilst his ‘enemy’ performed.
In fact, apart form Efya who started the show by singing the Nation’s anthem, no Ghanaian performed. KiDi was asked to perform when the show has ended and all excitement exhausted already. This has angered lots of Ghanaians and they want to know exactly culminated in this ‘gross disrespect.’
Some posts from Social media suggested that, Shatta Wale felt disrespected with how the organizers of the show were handling things and left but that’s just a mere a rumour.
Ghanaians are outraged and are demanding immediate response from the organizers. How could such a profile event be held held in Ghana and Ghanaian artistes were ‘disrespected’ at the expense of their counterparts from Nigeria is one of the comments they kept asking on the internet.
