Young Ghanaian sensational musician Black Sherif has revealed top Ghanaian rapper Yaa Pono is the first person who helped him to record.

Street name Blacko, the young Hiplife singer stated he dropped a freestyle titled ‘Cry For Me’ in June 2019 after he completed his second cycle education at Kumasi Academy (KUMACA) and the freestyle went viral on social media.

He said Ghanaian young comedian Ajeezy shared the freestyle on his page and the comments he received as feedback encouraged him to write more songs. Ajeezy then talked to Yaa Pono about him and Yaa Pono told him to come to Accra with him (Black Sherif).

Blako continued that Yaa Pono got him to Multimedia’s top Akan radio station Adom FM for his first radio interview and right after the show, Ajeezy took him to Yaa Pono’s house to record. He said Yaa Pono and his producer Unda Beatz were already waiting for him and they recorded the ‘Cry For Me’ song.

Speaking with Andy Doisty on the ‘Day Break Hitz’ morning show on Accra-based Hitz FM, the ‘Second Sermon’ hitmaker revealed that fans should expect something great from him and Yaa Pono.

Black Sherif had earlier revealed he would have been a second-hand car tyres dealer in not for music. He said he used to run his father’s car tires shop in Ghana before quitting to fully concentrate on doing music.
