A Ghanaian man has disclosed that regardless of being jobless now and needs a job badly to turn around his life, he’ll quickly reject any form of employment that will pay him less than 2,000.

The unnamed man said this when Citi Newsroom caught up with him at the just ended Youth Employment Agency (YEA) job fair held at the Accra International Conference Centre which started on Thursday, September 9, 2021 and ended on Friday, September 10, 2021.

According to t he man, he will reject a monthly salary lower than ₵2000 because he has an Information Technology (IT) background, and with his skills and certifications, he expects better pay.

Moreover, he correctly pointed out that the cost of living in Accra is very high and obviously he cannot ‘survive’ in such volatile circumstances.

In other news, the Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has extended a helping hand to veteran actor Psalm Adjeteyfio who has been reduced to penury despite three decades of gracing our TV screens with his acting prowess.

Psalm Adjeteyfio’s plight was brought to the fore after a recent interview where he revealed the challenges he has been going through, including needing an urgent amount of 3,000 to pay for his 6months house rent else he would become homeless.

His post has touched the hearts of Ghanaians with Ayisha Modi becoming the first person to publicly reach out to him by pledging to pay his house rent for the rest of his life. In this fresh update, the Vice President has also promised to pay his rent for a period of five years plus a stipend of 20,000.

In a post by Lawyer Krobea Kwabena Asante on his Facebook page, he disclosed that the Vice President has reached out to the popular thespian whose screen name is TT.

Krobea Kwabena Asante wrote;

“Despite mourning his mum who died in the early hours of today. Dr Bawumia this morning fulfilled a promise he made yesterday to TT of Taxi Driver fame that he will foot TT’s rent bills. Dr Bawumia has paid 6 months renewable for the next 5 years (30k) for TT and has also given TT 20k for upkeep. In all, he gave TT 50k this morning.”

Others who have pledged to support the veteran actor include Ayisha Modi, whose offer was to house Psalm for as long as he lived. As of this time, we do not know if she has been able to redeem her pledge.
