Sports Journalist, Gary Al-Smith has said that Ghanaian musicians do not need to be relevant before they win, all they need to do is to know the right people.

He said this in Facebook post while showering praises on Ghanaian singer, Rocky Dawuni who has been one of the few musicians promoting the Ghanaian culture to the world.

He said that Rocky Dawuni showed Ghanaians the way by proving that Ghanaian musicians do not need to stay relevant to win but only need to know the right people.

Gary Al-Smith said that Ghanaian musicians are a step closer to being recognized as well on the International market but all they need is to get into contact with the right people.

Rocky Dawuni, a man also from GH, showed us the way long ago, that he didn’t need to be relevant in Ghana to win. He needed to know the right people. Maybe we should encourage our acts to tap into people who will push them there, rather than pull them down because two Nigerians (with a lot more money and influence, let’s be honest) have done it.
