Recall that Nigerians, unfortunately, woke up to the sad news of the demise of actress Rachel Oniga on Friday, July 30. She was mourned by a number of her friends and colleagues in the movie industry.

Some shared fond moments of her on social media while others shared uncontrollable tears following her death. Patience Ozokwor couldn’t bear losing her friends, she broke down in uncontrollable tears. Other actresses like Funke Akindele, Iyabo Ojo, Ini Edo and the likes also took to their respective Instagram handles to mourn her.

Mercy Aigbe has joined the long list of actresses mourning their colleague, she took to her Instagram page to react to the death of the veteran actress. She wrote while sharing a photo of her;

In other news, Abba Kyari, the Nigerian Police Force’s Deputy Commissioner of Police and Head of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), has been suspended from his position by the Police Service Commission.

The commission’s spokeswoman, Abba Kyari’s suspension began on Saturday, July 31st, 2021, and will continue until the outcome of the inquiry into his conviction by the Federal Bureau of Investigation of the United States.

Ifeanyi Ani has also instructed the Inspector General of Police to provide it with information on new developments in the case so that it can take appropriate action.

He said the Commission’s decision was communicated to the Inspector General of Police today, Sunday, August 1st, 2021. In a letter with reference, PSC/POL/D/153/vol/V/138, signed by Hon. Justice Clara Bata Ogunbiyi, a retired Supreme Court Justice and Honourable Commissioner 1 in the Commission for the Commission’s Chairman, Alhaji Musiliu Smith, a retired Inspector General of Police.
