A die-hard fan of the Nigerian Afrobeat maestro, Wixkid has berated the Beninese singer, Angelique Kidjo after emerging as the winner over Wizkid, Femi Kuti, Rocky Damuni, and Hawaii’s Daniel Ho.

The 61-year-old singer recently bagged her fifth Grammy award as she won the Best Global Music Award with her “Mother Nature” album. Wizkid who bagged two nominations in the award scheme was snubbed by other musicians who were also nominated in the same category as him.
This obviously did not side very well with some fans in Nigeria as many called out the academy for constantly snubbing other musicians for Anglique Kidjo almost every year in the award scheme.
Well, a Twitter user has also registered her thoughts about Anglique Kidjo’s victory over Wizkid and other musicians who were nominated in the category as she describes Angelique’s artistry as cancer to the growth of the Afrobeat genre.
In a tweet, the fan tagged Angelique Kidjo as a fossil primitive artiste who is only into archaic stereotypes of African music just to appease her fans in order to grab Grammys.
She wrote; Angelique Kidjo is the problem, A fossil primitive artist who plays into the archaic stereotypes of African music to appease her audience for the Grammys. Her Artistry is a cancer to the Growth of Afrobeats if she keeps getting awarded and recognized over other evolved sounds.
