Young Nigerian musician, Ayra Starr has recounted the days that she used to go to parties uninvited.

Born Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, the beautiful and amazing songstress who has dropped some soothing tunes after announcing her presence in the music industry made this known in a recent submission with Spotify.

In her submission, she said;

“I grew up in different cities—Lagos, Abuja (Nigeria), and Cotonou (Republic of Benin) and it has helped me to infuse different energies into my sound. Cotonou is like a beach; very calm and serene. It is a place where one can get one’s mind together.

For creatives like me, Lagos just feels like home. Something is always going on. There is always one party somewhere. I even used to go to parties I was not invited to. There is something about the commotion and the vibe; as if everything is happening at once. It seems like everybody understands the struggle, and they are all working hard.”

The young musician began a fashion career at the age of 16 with Quove Model Management before deciding to pursue music.

After covering several songs by popular artists on Instagram, she posted her first original song on her page in December 2019.

This brought her to the attention of record executive Don Jazzy and led to her signing to Mavin Records.
