Not less than 20 people have died in an accident that occurred along the Bauchi – Maiduguri expressway near Tirwan village a suburb of Bauchi capital city.
According to Ahmed Wakili, the spokesperson of Bauchi Police, there was a head collision between a Volkswagen Golf and a Hummer Bus. After the collision, one of the vehicles flamed up and the passengers in it got burnt in toto. It was gathered that only two survivors who sustained serious injuries were rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Bauchi.
The spokesperson of the Police Command added that the remains of the deceaseds have been sent to the morgue at the ATBU Teaching Hospital.
