Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia- Vice President of Ghana, on Friday 3rd July exercised a constitutional right to vote by registering for the national voter identity (I.D).

The veep, registered for his new the national voter identity at the Kperiga D/A Primary School polling station in Walewale.

He however, urged all patriotic citizens of Ghana, to take part in the registration exercise.

‘’This noon, I exercised my constitutional right to vote by registering for the national voter identity (I.D) card at the Kperiga D/A Primary School polling station in Walewale,’’ Dr. Bawumia posted on Facebook.

He added ‘’the process was very smooth and safe. The social distancing and other Covid-19 safety protocols put in place by the Electoral Commission at the polling station were also very encouraging.

”We are in challenging times because of Covid-19, but I encourage you, patriotic citizens of mother Ghana, to take part in the registration exercise.

‘’As we step out to register, let us continue to adhere strictly to all safety measures, including wearing our face masks and observing social distancing.’’

The Electoral Commission of Ghana’s new voters’ registration exercise runs from 30th June- 6th August, 2020.

The country goes to polls on 7th December, 2020 to elect new president and also new parliamentarians.
