The loving husband of Queen of Britain, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip is dead.

She died aged 99 and this was confirmed by the Buckingham Palace in a recent social media post on Friday.

“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle,” the post read.

This comes after had a successful procedure for a pre-existing heart condition last month and he reportedly spent a week in the hospital.

Prior to his death, he was admitted to King Edward VII’s hospital in London on February 16 after suffering an infection.

He had a successful procedure for a pre-existing heart condition and was also seen leaving the facility.

He and Queen Elizabeth’s relationship was well-documented in the Netflix drama ’The Crown’ as they have been together for more than 70 years.

The queen has always acknowledged her husband’s deep influence on her as she referred to him as her “strength and stay”.

They were blessed with four kids – Prince Edward, Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, and Princess Anne.

In November last year, the British Royal Family celebrated him and the queen for being together as husband and wife for 73 years.

The photo was shared on the official Instagram handle of the royal family with the caption;
