In the House of Representatives, Mr. Denis Idahosa (APC-Edo), who represents the Ovia Federal Constituency, gave President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration a good performance rating.

Idahosa stated that the administration had done a lot for Nigerians in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Abuja.

He criticized the administration’s publicity strategy, claiming that there had not been enough coverage to inform Nigerians about these accomplishments.

“The present administration has done so much, but the publicity in terms of enlightening Nigerians on what he has done has not been very proactive,” he said.

He added that the president had performed so well in the matters of infrastructure, however there was room for more improvement.

‘The president has done so much in the area of infrastructure, and I think there is a need for improvement. We have done quite significant jobs for Nigerians,” he said.

Despite the administration’s successes, the economy has remained a significant challenge, according to Idahosa, the chairman of the House Committee on Legislative Compliance.

He claimed that the economy had been really poor and added that going forward, it was important to figure out how to make sure Nigerians received everything they were due.

“But as a country, I think we should do more. There is so much poverty in the land. Also, there are some things that affected most of the things the president should have done as a president.

“The issue of COVID-19 affected the economy drastically and the Ebola outbreak too.

“We fought with lots of problems that on a normal circumstance, even in the western world and advanced societies, they are also going through an economic meltdown.

“As a country, I think we have been able to manage it, and we are still surviving,” he said.

The lawmaker expressed hope that the country’s population will receive more work from the ruling All Progressives Congress if more possibilities were provided for them (APC).
