The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., has expressed worrying concern over the rapid increase in the COVID-19 cases in Ghana.

As at Thesday 14th July, 2020, Ghana’s count stood at 25,252 with 21,397 having recovered and/or discharged and 139 deaths, according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

Speaking to on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’, Mr, Pratt questioned why the numbers keep shooting up despite all the assurances by government and health Professionals to Ghanaians about staying safe by adhering to the health protocols against the disease.

Being alarmed by the current numbers, Mr. Pratt compared Ghana to a country like Mauritius which he claims have done marvelously well.

He stated that Mauritius opted for a lockdown and in the past weeks have recorded a zero COVID-19 case.

“Go to Mauritius and look at the figures. Mauritius recorded about 200 cases or so, total cases and they did a shutdown and introduced measures. In the last three weeks, they’ve not recorded even 1 case. The question that arises is if some countries can do this, why is ours almost messed up?”  He quizzed.
