Contrary to widespread rumours which gained currency on April 1 that famed record label in Nigeria, Marvin Records has been bought by Spotify, Don Jazzy has emerged to offer a clarification of the situation.

The music producer whose real name is Michael Collins Ajereh said it’s not true Mavin Records has been sold. Apparently, the reportage was made to coincide with Aril Fool’s Day.

The muddy situation was started by music executive and Head of Content, NOTJUSTOK, Ovie Ofugara who reported in a tweet on April 1 that Spotify acquired Mavin.

”Spotify Acquires Mavin Records”, he wrote. Reacting on Saturday, Don Jazzy pointed out that the tweet was only an April Fool’s joke.

Don Jazzy suggested that people easily fell for this bait because they hardly read beyond headlines. He wrote; ”Bro people only read headlines. So they won’t know this was your APRIL FOOL.”

Meanwhile, Rema randomly emerged at a club recently and hopped on the stage to charge the crowd in anticipation that he could perform for them for free.

However, there’s a brief drama when he turned to the Disc Jockey on the night to ask him to drop his 2019 single ‘Why’ only for the guy to say he does not have it on his playlist.

Rema was taken aback and subsequently questioned the DJ why he has no ‘Why’ laden with a facial expression that has since cracked ribs online.

It appears the DJ was not expecting him on stage that evening so he could not arrange for his performance with him beforehand.
