The crown prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, popularly known as Fazza has extended his hand of charity to a Nigerian family that was stuck in Dubai over their hospital bills.

A Nigerian couple, Tijani and Suliyah Abdulkareem had been stuck at the hospital since July 1 over an amount of $120,000 relating to the mode they had the babies. The fee shot up to that amount because the babies were born prematurely and had to be kept in an incubator at the neonatal intensive care unit.

They initially intended to come home to Nigeria to deliver but due to the impact of the Covid-19, they had to stay put. Abdulkareem thanked the prince immensely and said he was grateful for the kind gesture as he would name 2 of the kids after the prince as a payback for his gesture and name one girl after the hospital. He had 2 boys and 2 girls.

AbdulKareem  spoke with CNN and revealed that:

Iin his own words, It’s just a huge favour, and we are still in shock because we didn’t even know how to get the money. I had been sleepless wondering how to pay the bill,”

“We have been getting calls from Portuguese and Brazilian nationals in Dubai. People have been trying to reach us. The Nigerian community has been following us every step of the way,”

“I never expected to have quadruplets. It is still a miracle. And I believe that can happen again to get my family to Nigeria,”
