The Ekiti State Government has reportedly reversed the appointment of 100 newly recruited teachers.

The decision was made known by the Chairman of the Teach ing Service Commission, Mr. Babatunde Abegunde in a recent statement.

The reason for the decision was due to economic challenges faced by the state due to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.

It was further revealed in the statement that the appointment was suspended to prevent a situation where teachers would be working with receiving their salaries.

It was also stated that Governor Kayode Fayemi has directed the refund of money paid by the successful candidates to purchase a teaching service manual, service record, and job cards among others.
