Edo State government has descaled a 24 hours curfew on the whole state, across cities, town, and villages. The Edo state in in total shut down.

The curfew is scheduled to take effect at 4:00 Pm, today Monday, 19 October 2020 across the state.

According to the Edo State Government Secretary Osarodion Ogie, who announced the declaration of the curfew, the imposing of the 24 hours state lock-down was as a results of series of vandalism attacks by #ENDSARS protesters.

In his address statment he said “This decision has become necessary because of the very disturbing incidents of vandalism and attacks on private individuals and institutions by hoodlums in the guise of the #ENDSARS protests.”

“While the government of Edo State respects the rights of its citizens to undertake legitimate protests, it cannot sit idly when hoodlums have taken laws into their hands to cause mayhem on innocent citizens and the state.”

People who cannot provide for themselves self aprotections are to stay put till further notice on the lockdown when the riots have calm down.
