In order to ensure sustainable development, the federal government has stated that birth rates must be controlled in the country.

Osagie Ehanire, the Minister of Health, reportedly remarked this on Thursday, July 2, in Abuja at the World Population Day celebration, which was hosted by the National Population Commission (NPC).

Ehanire, who was represented by Director of Family Health Salma Ibrahim Anas, asserted that Nigeria’s current average fertility rate of 5.3 made it difficult for the nation to meet its Sustainable Development Goals.

He said;

“We must regulate fertility, without fertility regulation, we’re going nowhere. This is actually the key to unlock the success of sustainable development in Nigeria and the Ministry of Health has positioned itself to fulfill this purpose.”

In other news, Mr. Jollof, a politician and comedian from Nigeria, has once more defended Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his favored candidate for president.

In the 2023 presidential election, he claimed that the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) does not require support from the south-south and south-east.

During an Instagram Live session, Mr. Jollof responded to individuals who were still criticizing him for endorsing Tinubu.

The actor also shared his belief that the APC leader will succeed since he has a strong hold on support from a certain area.

The only sensible course of action, he continued, is for individuals from the south south and south east to support the BAT movement.
