A fisherman in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State has caught a very huge Hippopotamus.

The fisherman named Mr. Duobo of the Aku-gbene fishing camp captured the animal who was rumored to be disturbing residents and destroying fishing farms in the community.

According to Mr, Duobo, many fishermen have set various traps to catch the sea animal but all their attempts proved futile.

He expressed great excitement over his success.

The happy fisherman intimated that April 29, 2020 is his luckiest day since fishing in the camp.

Sharing how he managed to grab the Hippopotamus, Mr. Duobo recounted that he had set a trap for the Hippopotamus with ropes and bamboo sticks three days ago, and had been monitoring it. He was happy when he realized it had caught the animal.

He thanked his Hausa friend Mohammed, a fisherman residing at Polaku community, Yenagoa, for helping him achieve the feat.
