Former South African president, Jacob Zuma is set to face new corruption charges in court. The charges involve a French arms company, Thales.

His arrest warrant over these charges was issued as far back as February, however, he he failed to appear as he cited illness.

The court out-rightly rejected his “sick note” that was presented by his lawyer as he was told to provide adequate proof at his next appearance.

Reports by the DAILY POST suggest that the trial was then postponed to May 6, however, due to Coronavirus it didn’t come on as planned.

Per what we gathered, he will be imprisoned if he does not appear in court or fails to provide an adequate reason.

These charges involve a multibillion-dollar arms deal in 1999 with Thales that was overseen by Zuma when he was vice president.
