A herbalist identified as Samson Ogundele has been arrested after raping one of his clients, aged 17.
According to reports, the herbalist was arrested by men of the Ogun state police command after allegedly penetrating a young girl who visited his home for a consultation.

Reports say, that the 17-year-old victim reported the incident at Oja Odan divisional headquarters. The victim who was allegedly raped is reported to be a hairdressing apprentice who disclosed a sum of N1000 got missing in their shop which made all the nine apprentices in the shop consult the herbalist to know who stole the money amongst them.
On getting to the herbalist, he started calling them into a room one after the other after collecting N700 from them. The complainant stated further that the first and second persons entered and came out, and when it was her turn, she entered and the herbalist tried to r@pe her.

After lodging a complaint, the DPO Oja Odan division, CSP Gabriel Ikechukwu, deployed his men to arrest the suspect. The victim however disclosed that the herbalist threatened that she will die if she told anybody about the incident.
The victim was immediately taken to General Hospital Oja Odan where it was confirmed that the girl has been defiled. Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the herbalist himself has confessed to the commission of the crime.
