Nigerian Gospel musician, Dunsin Oyekan has opened up on how he overcame pain following the loss of his wife, Doyin Oyekan, who passed on two years ago.

Dunsin Oyekan’s wife died two years and the cause of her death was not disclosed or made known to the public.

Years after the tragic loss of his wife, and the pain it brought to fans of the gospel singer, Dunsin Oyekan has remained solid in terms of releasing great gospel songs which are on massive rotation on media airwaves.

At an event where he was invited to minister, Dunsin Oyekan shared with patrons at the event how he was able to stay strong and pull through the death of his wife.

He revealed that one of the songs “I’ll be here” from his latest album came as a special word to him when he lost his wife in 2019.

He stated:

…this song came in pain. I lost my wife almost 2 years ago in the middle of tears, in the middle of pain, the only person I could run to, is God and I said to the Lord in one of those days ;“I”ll be here lifting hands even when it doesn’t seem easy”.

And the Lord said said to me, if you focus on the pain of transition, you will miss it’s purpose. So this is my testimony, in pain, I see purpose, in grief I find grace. What shall separate us from the love of God?
