Rapper Kwesi Arthur, who brandished gari soakings (a mixture of gari, pea nuts, milk, sugar water) in one of his music videos (Anthem to be precise), has professed his love for the famous Ghanaian delicacy.

After making his first international appearance at the BETs, the Tema-based rapper, whose distinctive ‘shirtless’ persona has caught on well with Ghanaians, revealed that he eats the food twice a week.

The host Sammie Flex asked about why he decided to go on stage at the VGMAs with gari soakings to which the Grind Day hitmaker explained that people were thrilled when they saw him eat the food in his music video so he thought it was only right to bring it on stage.

As to whether he actually eats gari in real life, he revealed that he actually eats it at least two times every week.

Speaking with Sammie Flex on Zylofon Fm’s Showbiz Agenda on Thursday, Kwesi Arhur expressed appreciation for the solidarity exhibited Ghanaians when he got nominated for the BET.

He was particularly grateful to people like Sarkodie, D-Black, Joselyn Dumas and all the celebrities who used their social media handles to support him.
