Bulama Mustapha, an employe og Daily Trust has broken silence following an outrage by some Nigerians over a cartoon of the lavish wedding of President Buhari’s daughter, Hanan.

The cartoon which many found as controversial shows President Buhari’s wife holding a placard announcing the wedding of their daughter and showing it to Nigerians who are facing very hard times in their life trying to stand on their feet.

The cartoon was inspired from several posts by Aisha Buhari on Instagram showing off her daughter’s wedding and reacting to the cartoon, Aisha Buhari noted that children of Nigerian leaders had the right to married regardless of the government’s performance.

Speaking to BBC per Kemi Filani reports, Bulama Mustapha stressed that his cartoon was not born out of malice and he meant no harm and he revealed that he is surprised at the way Nigerians reacted to the cartoon.

He said;

“I mean no harm for the marriage of Hanan Buhari. I was only doing my work.

In the cartoon, l was just trying to show the experience of Nigerians currently. This is the first time I will get reaction from such high place to my work.

It shows that those in power actually see and listen to us. I hope we continue to inspire them to make life easier for the people.”Aisha BuhariBulama Mustapha
