Legendary Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tuface Idibia has penned a touching tribute to his departed friend and colleague Sound Sultan on social media.

Sound Sultan died in the US at the age of 44 after months of battling throat cancer and he was survived by three children and a wife.

Mourning his death, Tuface took to his Instagram page and expressed how devastated he is over his demise and according to him, he can’t still come to terms with the fact that Sound Sultan is not among the living anymore.

The ‘African Queen’ crooner described Sound Sultan as his friend and brother and promised to take care of the children and wife he left behind stating that they will be safe and good.

Sharing a photo of Sound Sultan, he wrote;

”Couldn’t bring myself to do this but what can we do. Rest well.

Till we meet again my dear friend and brother.

Still so unreal.

Will never stop celebrating u.

I promise u your fam will be safe and good.

#GRATEFUL for u and the blessings that u represented in my life.” 

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Basketball Federation took to their official Twitter page and dedicated the victories against the US and Argentina to Sound Sultan.

The revealed that the veteran singer and songwriter saw this day coming when Nigeria would become a dominant force in global basketball and they intimated how ironic it is that the day he gave up the ghost was the day the team won against USA.
