Nigerian author, Reno Omokri has revealed how people can defeat poverty.

The former Nigerian presidential aide shared this on his verified social media handle on the popular micro-blogging site, Twitter.

According to him, learn a skill if you want to kill poverty adding that the labour market has changed.

In his view, employers now prefer workers with skills over workers with degrees stating without mincing words that the return on investment on skills is much higher than degrees.

His post reads;

“Learn a skill if you want to kill poverty. The labour market has changed. Employers now prefer workers with skills over workers with degrees. The return on investment on skills is much higher than degrees, yet the effort to get a degree is more.”

In another post, he urged his followers to study the labour market unemotionally and they would see that those complaining of lack of jobs are degree holders.

His post reads;

“Study the labour market unemotionally. Those complaining of lack of jobs are degree holders. People with skills are too in demand. In fact, there is a greater demand for skills than there is a supply. Acquire skills even if you have university degrees.”
