Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region went to the polls on May 28 to elect their regional executives and the position that took center stage was the chairmanship position which was won by the popular politician, Bernard Antwi Boasiako who is widely known as Chairman Wontumi who was also the incumbent.
Prior to the elections, one of the people who campaigned against him was Ghanaian comedienne, Afia Schwarzenegger. Afia was seriously wishing Wontumi loses as she publicly campaigned for Wontumi’s main competitor, Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah.

Her wish did not come to pass as Wontumi won and she has reacted to the development. According to her, she is overly disappointed in the Ashanti Regional delegates of the party.
In her reaction, she said;
“I was campaigning for a chairman who can speak good English. I’m so disappointed in the delegates. If you’re breaking the eight, is this how you break the eight? They won’t even break the seven.
Ashanti Region needs a chairman with intelligence. If the chairmanship was standup comedy, it would have been given to DKB because he has a big head.”
