Ghanaian Hiplife/ Hip Hop musician Kwaw Kese has disclosed why he decided to relocate to the States from Ghana.

The issue about royalty in Ghana between the artists and the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) has been one of the disturbing matters in the industry. Most artists have complained about the royalty system in Ghana. One of the artists who dragged the organization recently was Stonebwoy.

The multiple award-winning artiste Stonebwoy disclosed recently during his clash with GHAMRO that he has only received an amount of GHc2,000 as royalties from the organization since he became an artist in Ghana.

The new artist to join the accusation tra in is Hiplife artiste Kwaw Kese. According to him, he has relocated abroad due to royalties issues in Ghana. He disclosed that he has been doing music for 20-years but he has never received any money from GHAMRO.

I have been doing music in Ghana for like 20 years and giving back to back hits, but I never received anything in terms of copyright, royalty, or any money that is due me, so I had to channel my energy to a different vibe, to a place where they will appreciate me and pay me for my efforts,” the rapper born Emmanuel Kofi Botchwey told Hitz FM.

Kwaw Kese who has been in the States for three years stated that no solution is given whenever the issue of royalty is raised. He also described GHAMRO as a non-serious entity that has failed.
