Famous American singer-songwriter, actress, philanthropist, and businesswoman, Dolly Rebecca Parton has been awarded a whopping amount of $100 million by Jeff Bezos.

The country music star, Dolly Parton received the $100m prize from the Bezos Courage & Civility Award, which happens to be an outfit that recognizes and honors leaders who ‘pursue solutions with courage and civility’.

Jeff Bezos, the billionaire founder of Amazon.com and owner of the space rocket company Blue Origin, announced the award last week along with his longtime partner, news anchor Lauren Sanchez.

In an interview with CNN, Bezos explained why he chose Dolly Parton for the award. “Look at what she’s done, and how she’s led her life and the way she’s done it. These bold things, always with civility and kindness, she’s a unifier,”

Parton, who is known for her philanthropic efforts, can donate the money to any charity of her choice. The singer in October was awarded the 2022 Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy for her work on The Dollywood Foundation and Imagine Library, which has donated millions of books to children worldwide and increased college access.
