Veteran Ghanaian rapper, Kwame Nsiah Apau, affectionately known as Okyeame Kwame has averred that women need to be given the same opportunity as men in the society.

The rapper in an interview with Doreen Avio on the Daybreak Hitz segment on Hitz FM stated that the world needs to consciously hand the same opportunity given to men to women to ensure equality.

He stated that the world used to be male-dominated since all important tasks were being handed over and executed by men, where as woman were only made to be spectators as men thrive successfully through their ordeals.

He added that due to the advancement and modernization of the world, people no longer rely on brains as they used to but skills also plays a vital role.

“Let’s consciously give women the same opportunity we give men. he world use to be male-dominated. Now it’s all about the brain“, he said on the show.

Okyeame Kwame also advised that the world needs to pay more attention to women even though they aren’t the providers at home. He added that the fact that a man provides for his family doesn’t mean he should be given the louder voice.

“Sometimes we need to listen to the women. It doesn’t necessarily mean because I go to hunt to bring something home, I should be given a louder voice“, he added.
