TV and radio personality Aaron Moloisi has joined Radio BOP as the new breakfast show host. The star rose to fame for presenting SABC1’s youth show Shift.
The name of the show is I Am a Legend with Aaron Moloisi and will air from Wednesday, 19th of May.
Taking to his Instagram account to announce the news to his followers, Aaron wrote:
“The cat is out of the bag. I am thrilled to join the legendary, the mother of radio stations in South Africa, @radiobopsa as the host of the breakfast show #IamALegendwithAaronMoloisi, hitting the global streets on Wednesday 19 May 2021,” he said.
“This is a surreal moment for me in my 18 years in media… join me as we celebrate the LEGEND in you Monday to Friday. Buckle up.”
The radio station has rebranded itself to expand its jurisdiction to the global stage. Speaking about the relaunch the radio station manager said: “The Covid pandemic and the attendant lockdown of our economy opened our eyes to the possibilities that digitisation of the economy presented us with and we have grabbed that opportunity with vigour and enthusiasm. So our presenters operate from their respective residences and not from a radio studio.”
Hector explained why they decided to relaunch the station.
“This rebirth follows our ill-fated attempt a few years back to resuscitate the station. That episode taught us a few lessons that will stand us in good stead as we grow the new Radio BOP brand.
“We learnt our lessons about why it is important to have a deliberate, but focused, strategy that understands local radio audiences, while being considerate of global radio trends,” he said.
