Renowned Nigerian defender, Taribo West was the first African player to win the UEFA Europa League which was formerly known as the UEFA Cup.
He became the first African player to win the trophy when he won the cup with the Italian football club, Inter Milan in the year 1998.
This was after he became the world’s most expensive defender in 2017 after winning the 1996 Olympic Games (Football) with Nigeria.
This was made known in a recent which reads;
