In a recent interview, singer Joeboy discussed his relationship with senior colleague and music executive, Mr. Eazi, who is the one who helped develop his songwriting and singing skills.

Recounting his journey to stardom, Joeboy disclosed that he joined Mr. Eazi’s Empawa Africa in 2017. He asserted that Eazi contacted him after he dropped off a song and sent the accompanying music video to every artist he could think of.

In an interview with a UK-based broadcaster, Joeboy revealed that a friend had made him aware of a remark made by Eazi on his post.

The well-known singer reached out to him after listening to his music. He claimed that after telling Mr. Eazi that he liked the song, he was given two options.

According to him, he option of getting $5,000 or having the boss of Empawa Africa, Mr Eazi produce and promote his music video. Joeboy claimed that after consulting with his friends, they told him to accept the cash because Mr. Eazi might forget him.

The ‘Alcohol’ hitmaker claimed that after hours of deliberation, he finally settled on the strategy that would harness the long-term benefits of the mainstream singer.

Months later, he notified Mr. Eazi of his choice, and as a result, they collaborated on a song and released it.
