It would be remembered that Kidi after he was announced the winner of the overall artiste of the year expressed his profound gratitude to MTN Hitmaker for introducing his talent to the world in 2015.

This did not side very well with some of his fans and Ghanaians as he was being berated for acknowledging another brand on the VGMA stage.

Speaking in an interview with Abeiku Aggrey Santana on Okay FM’s Ekwasodwodwo segment, Kidi stated that the recognition he gave MTN on stage was not pre-meditated but was only done out of excitement and anxiety after he won the prestigious award.

However, he mentioned that his success story can never be told without including MTN Hitmaker because he has always given them the credit for the platform they gave him to exhibit his talent to the world.

But, he understands the politics behind the competitive brands in Ghana and would render a sincere apology to Vodafone for praising another brand on their platform.
