D Black managed to bag four nominations in the just-ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. His song “Enjoyment Minister” ft. Quamina MP and Stonebwoy was nominated for the Best Afropop song of the year and also the collaboration of the year with the same song.

His album “Loyalty” also secured a nomination for the Best Album/EP of the year as well as bagging a nomination in the Best Hiphop/Hiplife artiste of the year.

It seems some Ghanaians were not content with the rapper’s victory and that of his signee, S3fa as their wins were meted with controversial comments on social media.

In response to that, D Black has described his naysayers as empty barrels who make noise on social media without substantiating their claims with proof.

He wrote; All talk talk talk. Alot these talkatives are really just empty barrels . And u know what is said about empty barrels.

In other news, talented Ghanaian singer, Akosua Kwakye, widely known as AK Songstress has explained why she switched from her usual dancehall style to venture into Afrobeat music.

Speaking in an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso on the Delay Show, AK Songstress revealed that even though she was doing dancehall when she emerged into the music scene, she believes that Afrobeat was what ushered him to prominence.

She explained that she has had over 50 singles ever since she emerged into the music scene but her most popular song “Jonathan” was her breakthrough hit which ushered her to fame and expanded her territories.

However, the reason why she switched from dancehall to Afrobeat was that the image portrayed to Ghanaians when it comes to dancehall music is not the true image of dancehall, therefore, many people did not understand her style since she was doing purely dancehall.
