The Nigerian Identification Management Center in a press release has cautioned netizens of immediate usage of NI numbers.
Information shared on the official NIMC Twitter page has shared a public notice and stated that the NI numbers can only be used after it’s been updated.

The update is expected to be done at the NIMC enrollment center.
The NIMC has therefore urged all citizens to visit the nearest enrollment center to update their information before they will be able to use it
