Outrage was sparked in an area after an unknown person reportedly bolted away a three months old baby called Precious Silas from the residence of her mother.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 11am on Wednesday, April 14 causing fear and panic in the area.

The mother of the child, Mrs Chidinma Silas disclosed to news correspondents that she just left the house to buy an item from the neighbourhood and when she returned her baby was no where to be found.

Breaking the news to PUNCH Metro in Owerri, Chidinma said that the suspect broke into her bedroom and took her child however he left her 2 year old son behind.

The perturbed mother said;

“When I looked closely, I noticed that the padlock I used to lock the door to my house had been broken. When I went inside, I discovered that my baby had been taken away. I felt someone might be playing pranks on me but as the day went by, I didn’t hear anything from anyone.

“I immediately went to the estate security to report the incident and they said no one had left the gates to the estate as of that moment.

“I have also gone to the police and the Army brigade to report. I’m dying here. I don’t know how I will survive without my child.”

Reacting to this, Orlando Ikeokwu, the Police Spokesperson in the state has stated that he is yet to learn about the details of the incident.
