Toke Makinwa took to her Twitter page to voice out her views about the current brouhaha going on at the Lekki toll gate. The peaceful protest has met resistance from the security agencies, and arrests have already been made in the early hours of today, Saturday 13th February including popular comedian Macaroni.
In her own opinion, it is in the right of every citizen to protest and not be arrested by the police like criminals.
She wrote: Nigerian government yet again shows its lack of empathy to its own people, we have a right to protest, it is “our” fundamental right to peacefully protest, why arrest anyone? Why oppress the citizens who want to be heard #EndSARS#EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria
