In a sad report, a Nigerian policeman has been shot in Abuja with the incident happening on April 12.

Per what we gathered, he was shot as he tried to prevent the abduction of some residents of the Tungan-Maje community in Gwagwalada Area Council of Abuja.

The incident was confirmed by a resident of the community whose name was given as Ibrahim Saidu.

Speaking to the Daily Trust, he stated that these unknown gunmen first attacked residents of Anguwar Samu in Tungan-Maje before they engaged both the police and some members of the vigilante in a shootout.

These unknown gunmen overpowered the security operatives in the gunfight that lasted over an hour.

They reportedly whisked away two people, before they stormed the New Poultry area of the council where they also kidnapped two residents.

In his submission, the resident said;

“The entire residents of Anguwar Samu were gripped with fear because of the gunshots but unfortunately, they succeeded in abducting two people.”

Per the report by the Daily Trust, the police officer and a vigilante member who sustained injuries in the incident are undergoing treatment.

This adds up to the numerous abduction scenarios that has catapulted Nigeria into a state of fear in resident times.

The Federal Government is widely informed by these situations and is taking massive and serious steps to curb the situation.
