Following the address of President Cyril Ramaphosa, the Eastern Cape government has accept the new COVID-19 regulations as he declared the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro a COVID-19 hotspot and cancelled the summer initiations in the region.
Provincial government spokesperson Mvusiwekhaya Sicwetsha said
“We support additional restrictions in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro and we believe these will help us contain the spread of coronavirus in the metro before it can further spread to other parts of our province,”
