News of Nollywood actress and singer Angela Okorie’s arrest hit the internet in 2014 for allegedly stealing in South Africa.
The scandal led to the arrest of Angela Okorie who was detained in the South African police station for some days and later released. However, the actress in an interview debunked the report saying that it was a case of blackmail.

In an interview with Yes Magazine, Angela Okorie disclosed that a friend named Prosper blackmailed and got her arrested by framing her up when he made sexual advances at her but turned him down. According to her, she went to South Africa with Prince Eke to shoot a movie titled “Nwa Abakaliki” when she was framed up and accused of stealing $3,200 by the said Prosper.
