Multiple award-winning Ghanaian media personality, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana has heaped praises on the controversial dancehall musician, Shatta Wale for his fierce fight in the music industry for Ghanaian musicians to be recognized.

According to him, Shatta Wale spearheaded the agenda to have Ghanaian musicians respected and cherished for their hard work and dedication to promoting the country through music.

During his show on Okay FM, Abeiku Santana stated that Ghanaian musicians were not accorded the necessary respect and recognition they deserved until Shatta Wale stepped in to get musicians seen for their worth.

He said that some time back, most Ghanaian musicians were scared of event organizers because they were being paid peanuts for their performances and they were not appreciated for their craft until Shatta Wale intervened.

Per Abeiku Santana’s submissions, Shatta Wale gave Ghanaian musicians the bragging right to demand better treatment and payment from event organizers when they are being booked for shows.

He further asserted that even though the SM boss is being hated and disliked by many due to his controversial approach to industry matters and lifestyle, he needs to be acknowledged as one of the pioneers who fought for the betterment of the industry.
