Buzzing Nigerian musician, Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, known within the showbiz circles as Simi has shared some of the problems most celebrities go through.

The mother of one in an interview with GQ South Africa revealed one of the problems she had when coming into the music industry. Simi stated that she had difficulty adjusting to the fame and attention that came with it.

In her own words; “At the beginning of my career, I really had a problem with fame. I would always say I’m not designed for it. A lot of it is unreal and I’m not about that. Many people didn’t know how to reconcile me being a celebrity with me being myself”

“But hey, all I know is how to be myself. Also, when something goes public, you can never really take it back. This guides me”, she added.

Speaking on her recent 11 tracked studio album, ‘To Be Honest’, She said; “Making music has always been about passion for me. So, I trust my instincts and hope that people connect to what I’m sharing with them…and most of the time, they do. I wanted to create something that showed a glimpse of me that people hadn’t really seen before. I wanted to display a less edited version of myself. I wanted to share my perspective of my own story. A lot of people have shared what they think I am, how they think I am, and what they think drives me. It’s my turn now.”

The ‘Duduke’ hit-maker also revealed her intention of writing a novel soon, and that her ambition of being a novelist is still alive. Simi’s album, ‘To Be Honest’ released on Friday, June 3, 2022 has amassed impressive numbers on streaming platforms.
